  16.     I am a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in data 
  17. acquisition and some relatively straight foreward control programming.  
  18. My prefered environment is National Instruments LabWindows/CVI, which is 
  19. a C based language with all of the really hard core C++ aspects 
  20. simplified.  My next task is to implement some real time control using 
  21. MS Visual C++ 2.0 for a manufacturing control project.  I have people 
  22. around to guide me through the really difficult aspects of this, but I 
  23. don't want to burden them too much...  I would like to begin by reading 
  24. some books on this topic.  Hopefully with a hands on approach and lots of 
  25. examples.  I would also like to attend some advanced training on this 
  26. topic as soon as I am capable.  Could anyone out there suggest books or 
  27. classes as mentioned above?
